20/20 Geomatics was founded in 2011, inspired by a simple yet profound goal: family and flexibility. When Malcolm and Sara Vanstone welcomed their daughter, Autumn, into the world in 2010, they wanted the freedom to build something of their own with a vision of balancing work and family life.

They created a survey company that prioritized both professional excellence and personal fulfillment.
Since then, 20/20 Geomatics has steadily expanded. Despite our growth, our core values have remained the same: integrity, precision, and a deep commitment to the people and landscapes of Southern Saskatchewan.

From single farm site subdivisions to larger highway and municipal projects, we take pride in helping shape the future of our province while respecting its natural beauty. Whether working with homeowners, developers, towns, Rural Municipalities, or organizations like the Nature Conservancy of Canada, our focus is always on delivering accurate and reliable surveying services.

At 20/20 Geomatics, we don’t just measure land—we build lasting relationships, rooted in trust and a shared appreciation for the place we call home.  We are proud to be a 100% Saskatchewan owned and operated business.

Meet The Team

Malcolm Vanstone, SLS, P.Surv
 – Co-Founder & Owner & Professional Saskatchewan Land Surveyor
Owner of 20/20 Geomatics, Malcolm Vanstone and his family posing for a picture.
Malcolm’s journey in land surveying began with a deep-rooted connection to the land itself. Growing up on a farm near Carnduff, Saskatchewan, he developed an appreciation for the vast landscapes and the importance of working with them. That passion led him to study at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, where he gained the technical skills and knowledge that would shape his career.

In 2008, Malcolm earned his Saskatchewan Land Surveyor (SLS) commission with the Saskatchewan Land Surveyors Association. Before founding 20/20 Geomatics, he built his expertise working with Condon Group and Altus Geomatics (now GeoVerra), gaining valuable experience in the field and refining his approach to land surveying through knowledge and building relationships.

In 2011, with a vision of balancing family life and professional independence, Malcolm co-founded 20/20 Geomatics. Since then, he has been dedicated to serving Southern Saskatchewan, helping landowners, developers, municipalities, crown corporations, and conservation organizations navigate the complexities of land surveying with accuracy and integrity.
Beyond his work, Malcolm finds joy in watching his daughter perform with the Youth Ballet of Saskatchewan, spending time at the curling rink with friends, and traveling to explore new places with Sara and Autumn. Whether on the job or in his free time, his appreciation for Saskatchewan and community remain at the heart of everything he does.
